After an email yesterday I found another person who is very much copying/ taking a lot of inspiration from my work. If you are not in a mood for this don't worry see you another time with more optimistic mood, but if you have couple of minutes please follow these links:

OK.....so what do you think? I have had emails in past about some of these from my customers and let it go, as it just made me feel worse dealing with it then better. But today I have been thinking about it and I'm simply f...off. I do understand the word is becoming very small with internet and all inspiration around us, and we all look at the same blogs, websites etc. But you just don't get the exactly same idea, in my case personalised hearts with initials, dates etc, half stuck hearts, hearts from books, in row of 7x6....

So apart from ventilating this on my personal blog I won't do anything else I just hope...they step on a lego one point ( and nothing personal)....

Because we believe that a message doesn't have to be shouted,

even a little whisper can make you smile or love.

This is our new project with Audrey. Letterpress cards, mostly "printed" without ink (blind embossed). All cards are printed by hand on vintage press Adana. There are Valentines/Wedding/Anniversary cards, Happy Birthday and Congratulations cards. Other cards are set of 10, 20, 30 in a box - Thank you, Merci, You are invited, or Personalised Monogram Cards.

We love the almost invisible effect of embossing without colour and think that sometimes words with true meaning don't have to be shouted loud....

Just before Christmas I made few presents for my sister and mum. I wanted to try make these ribbon necklaces for a long time. I made coral coloured one for my sister and navy and yellow for my mum. We also did a tiny bracelet with A. for her best friend, which we wrapped in magic bags from Audrey and had great fun making ribbons with butterflies and stars.

A. had her first nursery Christmas play yesterday, she was very nervous and didn't want to do it. I felt so sorry for her...I can't wait after very busy month to spend more time with her next couple of weeks. Like any other working mum I question myself and feel guilty a lot. Christmas inspiration

Are you planning to do some Christmas decorating this weekend? I was initially drawn to white Christmas tree, doesn't it look lovely, all white on white? or no tree at all, just one large twig? tree on a a wall (from masking tape or lights)? But in the end we are getting classical green one, A. can't wait...Couple of weeks ago I said about me being very organised this year, but since then I have not really done anything, so hopefully I will have time this weekend to do some decorating and buy few presents. What about you? any special theme in your home this year? too early? I hope I'm not stressing you out too much:)

Some days just have better starts then others. When you open your eyes and see a rainbow, when a postman brings nice packages...Don't you just love getting post? Yesterday I received few lovely surprises. One from Dawn who is very sweet lady behind this blog, she takes beautiful photos and made calendar for next year. And she sent me one:) Thank you! Dawn started selling posters for children this year and next year will be adding photographic gift tags and cards. So watch this space!

And then there was a card from Hearts Delight ( Wine Tasting&Auction which takes place every year in Washington, benefiting American Heart Foundation). I sponsored them with gift frames last year and this year they used one of my pictures for their save the date postcard....that makes me happy...

Over the weekend I finished this advent calendar mainly for Anya, who is 3, but also for my two step sons when they come to stay with us. Every envelope contains 3 chocolate coins plus small surprise for A. Stickers, beads, hair clips, crayons etc. I can't wait for her to start opening it. Boys are already 13 & 17 and although they didn't want to miss the chocolate, Christmas is not such a big deal for them anymore. But Anya loves it. We wrote a letter and drew a picture for Father Christmas yesterday, left it by fireplace last night and to her surprise it wasn't there this morning! It's all getting exciting again through her little eyes...

New York

We had a great time, got back couple of days ago, very tired and jet lagged but full of fantastic memories. We travelled with a few friends ( one of them was her :) and her husband. M. and him run NY marathon on Sunday and as our friend said ( it was his first one) it's better then 10 motivational days. The support was fantastic, very uplifting and loud. I was taking loads of videos, so if time allows I will try to make my NY video. We stayed in Chelsea and I took tips from this book and from Cup of Joe NY guide. I especially loved these restaurants (Freemans , Co.) Well done to M. who is a huge dreamer and achiever and huge thank you to my parents who came to look after Anya for the whole week. We are off to NY on Friday. M. is running his 4th marathon there and I'm going to support him, plus do a bit of shopping and basically having a holiday. I went to New York only once before, so any last minute ideas? After a busy weekend I'm feeling very much under the weather and today wasn't the best day I have to say. I just wanted to say thank you to few blogger friends and customers which recently contacted me about people copying my personalised pictures. Initially I spent about an hour writing a post with photos about it, but it only left me more annoyed and negative so I decided not to post anything. Just maybe a tiny note for anyone who is lazier on their creative side...there is a huge difference between being inspired and just simply copying. But no more of that...

autumn decoration

A. has half term so I have been trying to come up with different projects for her, and one of them was to create a little autumn decoration. We did this leaf one together (last photo) couple of years ago ( it used to be our annual tradition with my sister when we were kids) but this year I wanted try something different. Very simple, you can use different colours or shapes. We used rowan red berries, paper and elastic transparent string ( not sure what's the correct name). Anya loved it and only pricked her finger once at the end ( she is 3).

how not to paint furniture

After purchasing sideboard on Ebay and then finding out it's much darker then expected, basically dark orange instead of light oak, had also been damaged and scratched I decided to paint it grey. Me being impatient and indecisive ( after looking at Farrow & Ball paint chart for 2 hours) I decided to mix paint myself. So base - white ( Farrow& Ball) and ivory ( Crown) + numerous amount of paint samples from F&B and Fired Earth. I simply mixed together all I had, it wasn't that simple:) and tadaa...not bad at all:) As the cabinet was already bashed quite a bit on edges I created sort of shabby chic look by sanding corners and left cracks and holes as there were. So after being conned and buying solid oak sideboard and ending up with orange soft wood cabinet I'm very pleased with the result. What do you think? I also painted these silver candlesticks - matt black, much nicer.

this autumn? I normally stick to my uniform of navy, beige, white and black but this year I really enjoy wearing little pops of colour, especially in shoes. I bought red and mustard ones the other day, and love it...What about you? do you have a certain "uniform" or style which you stick to or are there any changes in your wardrobe this autumn?

We made these conker animals last week after a long walk in park, we did the same last year but this year few of them ended up with pink paint and silver sparkle:) ...

I mentioned Love Mae before and since then they created few new products. I especially like the Pantry Labels. Sweet addition to any kitchen.

If you have older apples, or the ones they don't taste as nice ( any type, it doesn't really matter)
1. Peel, cut apples
2. add cinnamon stick or cinnamon sugar ( or just brown sugar), clove (you don't have to)
3. add water
4. boil for 5-10 min, just for apples to soften
5. serve warm

I put too much clove there yesterday so it was tiny bit bitter, just few is enough. Sugar is optional too, I have sweet tooth so I like it that way but you can always add sugar later. It's incredibly easy but warm, sweet and very light.

One more thing for today. This video, I find it very inspiring.

Probably a year later then everyone else I finally joined Pinterest, and oh it is very time consuming. In a

good way. With this I seem to be increasingly more and more interested in photos of kittens. We

had this conversation with M. few times now, he doesn't seem to be bothered, he is more of a dog lover

but I love cats. I like their independence, personalities and probably a bit the low maintenance

as well. But when you see a photo like this, who wouldn't? The only problem is when we go away...

We often go for a week or two weeks holiday, more visiting my family ( living in another country) and

I feel it might be a bit unfair to leave it behind. We not that friendly with our neighbours and I think

that asking friends for longer time or more often would be too much. What do you think? have you got

any pets? ......but look at those eyes:)

I always dreamt about place like this. Gallery, caffe, terrace...All very laid back, elegant but stylish. I juts love so many little details in these photos. Half painted furniture, magazines tied together with strings, paintings, Thonet chairs ...and the terrace! (white circle on the little photo with a cyclist)...Maybe one day, but for now enjoy these photos from this caffe in Zagreb.

I finished decorating our bedroom last week. After having bare walls for 4 months I decided that in the end I just can't live with the raw industrial look, and although I love it on photos and in magazines I find it to hard to live with. And I'm not even talking about M. who is incredibly conventional when it comes to decorating. As I love staying in hotel rooms, I wanted to do one for myself. Darker, cosy and welcoming. My thoughts were : black wall, large linen headboard, big curtains...In the end I tried to work with things we already had, armchair from the top floor, rug from downstairs etc. Painted wall, wallpapered another, black blinds, linen curtains, couple cushions....I have only one little dislike about the room and that's the radiator, which I think buy cover for ....What do you think?
