I just have one of those days when nothing is right, and I'm extremely frustrated and ...off with everything. and then I saw this...:)
thanks Amy

it's all about A. in France

We had a great time with our friends in France. Little Anya turned 2 couple of days ago and from the photos I taken it seems, everything is about her. My sweet daughter was swimming like mad, peddling with her little feet and running around markets with a baby push chair, me ...slept healthy 8 hours a nigh, sunbathed, read, ate and drank a lot. very nice. Now back to rainy England :)

These last photos are from our bathroom and dressing room of the gite we stayed in. It's owned by our friends and I just LOVED this room.

Duo, originally uploaded by At Home With Red.

While I was working this week I was listening to some old and new soundtracks we have. I love films and by writing this post I realize that most of the films I like have great music. Basically I'm a sucker for soundtracks. Here are some of them. In my opinion great films and great music. You can click on the name of the films and see the trailers.

Amoros Perros- "car accident connects three stories, each involving characters dealing with loss, regret, and life's harsh realities, all in the name of love" , Mexican

Babel - "4 interlocking stories all connected by a single gun all converge at the end and reveal a complex and tragic story of the lives of humanity around the world and how we truly aren't all that different." based in Marroco...and by the way Brad looks really good in there...

Piano- " There is a silence where hath been no sound. There is a silence where no sound may be in the cold grave under the deep deep sea.", classic

The End of Affair - the reason I called my company Sarah & Bendrix

Leaving Las Vegas- romantic drama film about a relationship between a suicidal alcoholic and a prostitute in Las Vegas ...Nicolas looks cool as well

The Reader- "WWII Germany: Nearly a decade after his affair with an older woman came to a mysterious end, law student Michael Berg re-encounters his former lover as she defends herself in a war-crime trial"...very strong story and again Raph Fiennes...love him

Juno - "Faced with an unplanned pregnancy, an offbeat young woman makes an unusual decision regarding her unborn child.

Frida- "A biography of artist Frida Kahlo, who channeled the pain of a crippling injury and her tempestuous marriage into her work", Salma Hayek is brilliant

The Girl with a pearl Earing- "A young maid working in the house of painter Johannes Vermeer becomes his talented assistant and the model for one of his most famous works", sentimental, visually beautiful

The Motorcycle Diaries- "The dramatization of a motorcycle road trip Che Guevara went on in his youth that showed him his life's calling. "

Snatch- Guy Ritchie's gangster story

Dead Man - "On the run after murdering a man, accountant William Blake encounters a strange Indian named "Nobody" who prepares him for his journey into the spiritual world". ...Johny Depp very best..
I have always loved films and when I was a teenager I used to go to a film club and still remember watching independent movies on Mondays nights...like these
Carlos Saura - like Peppermint Frape
What about you ? do you like films? have you got any tips/ recommendations ? any film you have seen recently?

The weather is beautiful, real summer, weekend has just started and I have been working and I will continue to work non stop for a while. I had to close my shop for a week so I can catch up with orders as it went absolutely crazy after I was featured in Real Simple, in their summer gift guide. Amazing, very grateful, but very tired. So this uplifting orange doze should do the trick. Isn't it wonderful, just little pops of this colour, combinations with white, grey, black....all photos houzz

11 May 2010

I have moved a few things around in our house this weekend and I'm really pleased with the freshly painted white floor in our bedroom, needs little bit finishing, the edges, etc. but I love it. Not that M. was so excited when he arrived home after his weekend away in Spain, "where is the carpet?!" .." in the bin darling..:)" .. it's not easy to live with me.....have a nice day everyone!

what do I do when my husband goes away ?

5

...DIY....M. went away for the whole weekend and I've been frantically running around the house and painting and painting and...So far I have moved the picture walls, painted a wardrobe, wall in the kitchen and got rid off a fitted carpet in our bedroom. And! painted the floor as well. Five broken nails, backache and two days later I feel content and satisfied. And we manage to go for a little trip with grandparents as well! But one thing I'd like to recommend, don't try to pull a fitted carpet from a room full of furniture:)..uh. I will share all my home changes with you next couple of days, but now please have a look at this amazing wardrobe idea! fantastic! ...sorry just wanted to add -these photos, project is not mine. There's this thing we New Yorkers do when we walk down the street. We look in the windows of the other people's apartments. We don't do it in a creepy, stalker way. It's nothing like that at all. We do it more in curios, maybe even competitive way, although that's not to say it's in a negative way either.... (The Selby In Your Place).

I went a little bit crazy at Amazon last week and bought loads of books and this is one of them. Homes and studios, famous and infamous people, interesting, strange, full of details, little stories, incredibly interesting.
