As we are spending this weekend without our family and at home I have managed to do loads of stuff. Finished some DIY projects, went to see two exhibitions, few dinners, a concert and so far done two longer runs as well. And yeh...I cut my middle finger quite badly...
Today I went to V&A, to see British Design 1948-2012, I'm not a massive retro fan, but it was great to see how British design evolved and really how for the last 20 years it seems to me we are only tweaking and changing things that have already been done before. I personally like the late 50s and 60s fashion and design the most. Skinny trousers and minidresses, simple lines, to me it all looked quite cool and I can see myself wearing and living in it. And although I'm not into cars at all I massively admired Jaguar E type, which was there as well,  seriously beautiful car.

Afterwards I went to National Portrait Gallery to Lucien Freud exhibition (top left). I used to paint and strong strokes and confidence in his paintings made me feel that I would love to start again. I prefer his earlier work, less dramatic and in all honesty less big naked ladies. On a way back I read Elle Deco where I came across Sonia Rykiel new fabric  (top right) for the second time this week, and I like it a lot....

happy easter

Thank you all for your birthday wishes, we had a great time with my family. Went away for the weekend to a lovely old spa town, walked and talked a lot. I was planning to show you some photos, but left my usb cable at my parents house so has to pick it up next week. I left A. with them for another week as she is on Easter holiday, and flying back on Wednesday to pick her up. I'm planning to do loads of diy, finish few projects and spent some time with M. Tonight we are going to Camden to see first bigger gig of my step son. Ah...to be 18 again:) ....Have a lovely Easter weekend! I will be back with a giveaway and hopefully some finished projects to share next week.

This time spring wedding in pink & mint. I would love to wear that dress one day! and have the tape ring, and bake that cake, and make the fabric pin board and paper party bag.....

What about huge photos of bride and groom stuck on a wall? a fabric board with messages for a wedding couple? Tape ring with the date of the wedding instead of the real measurements? wallpaper hanging from the ceiling as a background for photos?

My mum turns 60 tomorrow and me 34 today. Having wonderful family time.....I will be back in couple of days...

This time with splash of purple...I love some these ideas. Scrap paper light which you can do it yourself! Black board with names as photo background, envelope card for secret messages and dip dyed scarf....

Australian Interior Design Awards

I just spent about an hour admiring all these houses with huge amount of space and light. If all the houses in Australia look like this M. doesn't have to persuade me of moving there for too much longer...just kidding! If you follow me on pinterest you could see the photos flooding into my board, no seriously there is so much more to see where this came from....all house on these photos have been selected for Australian Interior Design Awards. Head over there for more inspiration but I warned you!

This time in black & white. Bride - a long white lacy dress, bridesmaids - black dresses, groom - all in black. Tiny touch of gold, simple elegant lines with delicate details. On Sunday we went to Shere. It's a little village not far from us and it's probably the most famous from the film Holiday. Have you seen it? When we got back A. played "the maps" with M. She loves talking  about capitals and countries. Her favourite is Australia...What a surprise? M. is trying to persuade the whole family of moving there for couple of years. I have never been, but he swears when I go I will instantly love it. Have you been?

Like this home a lot. Especially the idea of hanging photos and postcards from the ceiling giving plain grey staircase completely different dimension....the full house tour here

mint green + orange

There are certain colours or combinations I don't like at first but become to love later. This is one of them...but when it comes to my personal wardrobe I could probably get away with red/orange but pale green - mint green, is absolute no no for me. But it does look divide on her.

happy weekend + mother's day

Any plans for this weekend? in UK we are celebrating Mother's Day on Sunday so as I'm mum myself I hope for some sweet surprise from A. Morning kiss and a picture would be perfect....have a great one!

A. is going to be 4 in summer. She loves to paint, play silly games like being a ribbon princess, goes to ballet and loves anything purple and pink. And yes - she LOVES to read. anything and anywhere. If you in London I recommend to take your little one to Tate Modern. We go about once a month and couple of weeks ago we went to see this exhibition. I didn't expect to see almost anything with 3 year old, as she constantly runs around and walking slowly is literally impossible, but it's always great day out. They also have this "sticker room" there at the moment, which was fantastic...I read about it  here.
