We are at the end of first week of our holiday. Melbourne was great. The weather was fantastic, we enjoyed loads of sun, salt water....a trip to mountains (Puffing Billy) was refreshing and having our legs out of the windows was quite liberating. The hotel we stayed in (The Prince) was pretty cool with wonderful location but not very child friendly, I know it's more young, party type of hotel but anyway, they were fine but not fantastic.
I went to couple nice little shops as well, but more about that next time.
I hope you are all ok?

Last year I have decided to start adding other designers to our shop. The first of them is called appropriately - The First Snow. They make wonderful items for weddings, painted cake toppers, posters, table numbers and custom wedding signs. I fell in love with their handmade, hand painted style, pretty details and colours. We now stock some of their items and I'm so happy! They are truly lovely and would finish any wedding perfectly. all available in our shop now - head over here

Yes we are leaving for 3.5 weeks to Australia! My husband, three kids - 4.5, 14.5, 19 and I. We will be  staying for 4 days in Melbourne, week in Sydney, couple days in Blue Mountains, couple days somewhere close to Brisbane and a week by Fraser's Island. I can't wait. I have never been before and I'm full of expectations.

We are flying tonight and feel a bit calmer now. Work has been sorted as my amazing assistant Sarah will be fully in charge of our shop and our home will be occupied by our friends from Czech. Uff...it has been very manic few weeks and I can't wait to relax and have a bit of sun in my face.

My husband is turning 40 next week and this trip is a present for and from him. I will be still posting over here as I have some great post prepared for you and the plan is to post photos from our holiday as well.

So back to our trip. Have you got any tips? things not to miss out in Australia? favourite restaurants, galleries, shops, places?
I would love to hear.

Hope you are enjoying Valentine's day, and if you don't celebrate it, just having a good day.

In next couple of days I will be posting about loads of new products from our shop. I hope I don't bore you too much with it, I'm just trying to show you everything before I will be travelling to a different continent next week....more about it later...

I wanted to have these paper garlands in our shop for a long time. They are finally finished and I just love them. You can chose from 8 different types and colours. From yellow to gold and bronze to blue and silver. They are about 10ft (3m) long and would make a wonderful decorations for weddings, parties, kids bedrooms or as a photo backdrop. Some of the circles or flowers are double layered so they create a lovely 3D effect. So pretty!

Do you like them?

you can buy them here or here.

happiness is made for you

I never really told you about this poster we now have in our shop - Happiness is made for you. I always find it fascinating how people come up with ideas. So if you are interested here is a story behind this poster.
As you might know I'm a huge secret romantic and I love old love stories, nothing cheesy but classical type of romance, sad, eternal love. That kind of feelings people die for.
So when I was reading Love Letters of Great Men , which I really enjoyed by the way, I came across one letter from Napoleon to his wife Josephine. And this is the part of the letter:

" Do not put yourself out; run after pleasures; happiness is made for you. The entire world is too glad to be able to please you......."

So here you go this is my inspiration.  I think we are partly responsible for our happiness and if we believe we deserve to be happy we are more likely be that way.....

The sun came out for a bit today so I used every minute to take few shots and update some of our products in the shop. I'm in love with the personalised monogram cards we have, especially the pressed envelopes. Just so pretty.
You can buy them here.
Cards were created by Audrey Walas for our shop.

There are two different but equally perfect online magazines I came across today. First one Adore is colour issue and honestly it feels like when summer enter your house. So uplifting!
Second one Ets magazine which I didn't know till today (thank you Petra) is full of beautiful homes and design stories. And I'm not even talking about the past issues. So put your feet up, have a drink, browse and listen to this...

happy weekend!

forest friends

30 January 2013

Hi it is Petra here today.

We have planned with Hugo for long now that we create a home for paper animals from MiboStudio.
They lived temporarily in the "gamekeeper's house" paper house with a chimney, but came to us better to have a home in the woods.
Yesterday we embarked on a fold-out "forest book" from a cardboard box. After a few hours cutting and gluing arose folding forest set (the book is somewhat overblown expression :)) that can be used when playing by child's fantasy. Eventually we want to expand the book, maybe a page of forest animals tracks, learning about trees by leaves, or we add trees for owl and other birds.
More paper print and cut-out animals not only from the forest can be found here.

See you later!

for the little ones

We have a new item in our shop. Bespoke Newborn or Christening framed picture. Similar item, favourite song one has become very popular, especially the one with dark grey background so we decided to add version for little ones.
It would be  a wonderful present for a newborn or his parents, to celebrate Christening or Baptism. You can use children poem, lullaby or  a short story. And add personalised message or name and date on the other side of the book.  It comes with 5 different backgrounds ( pale peach, pale duck egg, white, beige and grey) and white or black frame.
I enjoyed styling of the pictures a lot and had chance to use my wooden toys from Czech. Aren't they just cute?

simple but perfect

I strongly believe that simple ideas are the best. But what makes them stand out are the thoughts behind and attention to details.
And this is perfect example. I had this article from Brooklyn Bride bookmarked for over a year now and might have shared with you some the photos already, but I keep going back to them and can't stop admiring the attention to details and the simple idea of the whole setting. People who decorated this afterparty used found recycled papers and wood. Everything is simply covered in white sheets of paper and with clever use of lighting it just looks so serene, sophisticated and classy. Amazing job.

Valentines day?

Do you celebrate Valentines day? if yes do you buy something red and with hearts or something small & quirky? or you don't celebrate it at all?
Once a year I do like a bit of red, not one of my favourite colours, but I think after white cold winter is refreshing to see this bright and uplifting shade.
I took a few shots today for our shop and I hope you agree with me that red or hearts don't have to be cheesy but also simple and modern. And couple little details makes it even more special.

People in Uk are not used to snow and they like to moan, not that I don't sometimes, haha, but I enjoy snow a lot. When I was a kid we used to go skying every winter and snow was just a normal part of our lives. In England some schools close, people can't get to work, apparently, and it's more inconvenience then a natural  part of winter.
I love the crackling sound under my feet and how everything is white and calm. It's all melted now and I'm going through the photos we took last weekend. It was great fun...and yes that's me and A.

I like creating mood boards. Perhaps it's a habit from my previous work or just an addiction to images (magazines, Pinterest) I admit,  I like to look at nice things.
For next spring and summer I'm thinking  of a bit green/blue, orange, and b&w....
Have you got any favourite spring or summer colours?
