The weather in Uk was just horrid last couple of weeks so one afternoon last week I decided to pull out a large canvas which I was keeping for "one day", when start painting again, and told A. she can paint whatever she wants. At first she was a bit hesitant as it was a quite large space to fill but once she got Gruffallo to help her, she was fine:) Of course I controlled her a bit:). There was a limited colour choice and I tried to encourage her not paint everything black and pink. I really enjoyed teaching her long strokes with brush, mixing colours and it was just great fun. In the end she wanted to draw our family. Surprise! and I ended up being the fattest and tallest one! not true!! although it feels like it today after not moving all day...

  1. Now V, your home interiors shots look like they are fit for a magazine. Stunning photos of your bedroom and lounge, in face are the walls newly painted?

  3. I agree with Dawn. I think a magazine should feature your home! Looks wonderful.
I wish I had talent with a paint brush, unfortunately not. But your daughter and you created a lovely piece. So much more interesting with art on the walls that actually has some sentimental value :)

  4. She seriously painted that? I love it! And the family on top of the more abstract painting is so fun and celebrates who you guys are. What a great idea.

  7. Beautiful! And remember: she painted you the biggest and tallest, because you are the most important person in her world. It's absolutely a compliment!

  8. I love this - not only is it adorable it's actually brillianty artistic! There's something about how children can paint/draw without being self-conscious that creates the loveliest results.
And it looks fab against the grey wall - I like!
