The weather in Uk was just horrid last couple of weeks so one afternoon last week I decided to pull out a large canvas which I was keeping for "one day", when start painting again, and told A. she can paint whatever she wants. At first she was a bit hesitant as it was a quite large space to fill but once she got Gruffallo to help her, she was fine:) Of course I controlled her a bit:). There was a limited colour choice and I tried to encourage her not paint everything black and pink. I really enjoyed teaching her long strokes with brush, mixing colours and it was just great fun. In the end she wanted to draw our family. Surprise! and I ended up being the fattest and tallest one! not true!! although it feels like it today after not moving all day...

I just love these paintings from Samantha French, you can buy any of these as prints in her shop. Wouldn't they be great for  a bathroom?

Love on fire represents romance and passion or destructions and jealousy.  It is raw and gritty. This piece is made up of approximately 2,500 match sticks and a total of 24 hours. The board is a reclaimed art board / plywood. More here. Fantastic.

They said:... 'The Snow is a 15-meter-wide dynamic installation..... Seeing the hundreds kilograms of light feather blown all over and falling down slowly, the memory of the snow scape would lie within people’s heart would be bubbled up.....The snow scape created with the feather would be more like the memory of snow lying with people rather than the actual snow.....The most beautiful things I believe in this world is what is irreproducible, accidentally born, and disorder that cannot be understood by the theory. I believe the nature is the ultimate beauty in this world.'....

Installation by Japanese designer Tokujin Yoshioka. I haven't been to any exhibition for a while and if I live in Tokyo I wouldn't want to miss this. Till November the 7th. Again via very inspirational dezeen
