Couple of weeks ago I finally finished decorating Anya's new bedroom. Painted walls, floor, cupboards in white, made curtains, bought a new rug and moved stuff from her old much smaller room and some toys and books from downstairs. She was so happy when she got back from school on that day. She was literally jumping up and down.

Couple of weeks ago A. and I went to our favourite Southbank. Had a nice lunch, as usual bought loads of books and went to see this giant book maze, made of 250.000 books. After that we spent absolute ages drawing and messing about in The Tanks, which is a new part of Tate Modern. Wonderful industrial concrete space, vast but also really cozy, I know probably not the right word but it just felt like that....

Have a great weekend!

travelling with babies on your own

I'm over at Emma's blog - The Marion House Book, talking about travelling with babies. And yes if she tells me to skip through duty free zone with her, I do it. I prefer happy baby to screaming one at the airport. Luckily she is now at that age when she prefers to smell the perfumes....

On Saturday Anya had a quite big birthday party. Initially we invited few people but in the end everyone turned up and we had at one point 21 children and 40 adults in the house. A. had amazing time with all her friends. We booked a kids entertainer, which was great with that amount of children, ate lovely food, and even the weather was perfect. We made the pompoms last week together and I think I might keep them there for a bit. So optimistic. She got a t-shirt from Bob & Blossom with number 4, which she proudly wore in the morning before changing into a party frog. She was given some fantastic presents from her friends and I bought her this really cute handmade bear. She now calls it Cliffi.

lack of sleep

Do you like to sleep ? I do. A lot. But since having A. and starting my own business I just can't get enough. Very late nights, early mornings, it's just killing me. I got used it  but every so often I wish I could stay in bed all day and read books, laze around and dream. But hey...having a child and business was my choice. Yesterday, while taking some new photos for my shop I decided to lighten up our bedroom a bit. Black and grey out, more white a bit of pink in. Now, what am I doing? I should really go to bed...sweet dreams.

Her real answer was chocolate and broccoli (not together)...head over to room to bloom  to read what my daughter likes to do and what she wants to be when she grows up.....

It felt like first spring weekend. Visit to a garden centre and spending the whole afternoon digging, planting and enjoying sun.

A. has half term so I have been trying to come up with different projects for her, and one of them was to create a little autumn decoration. We did this leaf one together (last photo) couple of years ago ( it used to be our annual tradition with my sister when we were kids) but this year I wanted try something different. Very simple, you can use different colours or shapes. We used rowan red berries, paper and elastic transparent string ( not sure what's the correct name). Anya loved it and  only pricked her finger once at the end ( she is 3).

I moved to another room. Decorating. Old wallpaper and picture rail went down, lovely plaster uncovered. I'm planning to change blinds, paint walls, probably quite dark colour and maybe leave bare plaster behind our bed? what do you think? The wall with drawings on will be painted, some of them were there before, and Anya really enjoys adding more. I'm in no rush decorating, quite enjoy the room as it is now and thinking about creating dark cozy bedroom...

around our home

I finished some DIY projects this weekend. Wallpapered hallway, still needs a bit finishing, pictures, new carpet ( unfortunately I lost a battle to my husband:), no painted stairs). This weekend I painted an old cherry dressing table ( gold handles, reddy colour), two coats of silk black paint and DIY leather handles. It sits in my office....cozy inspirational corner. The table was in a shed for about 3 years, so finally it came to use. I have so many ideas for our house now, perhaps because it's spring, but please can I have 48 hour day? I think days are just too short:)

I have been doing more sorting out, organizing, decluttering, little bit of shopping and spending time with my family. This weekend is purely my little daughter and husband. I'm switching off this laptop and putting papers and scissors into a cupboard. Hopefully the weather will be nicer and we can go for a little trip ...I need fresh air desperately and I want spring!!! What are you going to do? anything nice? Enjoy your weekend everyone!
