I'm always very delighted to see our products in real homes. This time in Danielle Moss's home in Chicago. Her home is light, fresh and very pretty. Our posters must be very happy living there.....(if they could).
Spot them in photo ( 3+last one) - Happiness is Made for you, Non Je Ne Regrette Rien.

There are two different but equally perfect online magazines I came across today. First one Adore is colour issue and honestly it feels like when summer enter your house. So uplifting!
Second one Ets magazine which I didn't know till today (thank you Petra) is full of beautiful homes and design stories. And I'm not even talking about the past issues. So put your feet up, have a drink, browse and listen to this...

happy weekend!

a straw hat in the kitchen

Hi, it is Petra here today.

Stockholm based studio Oscar Properties managed to turn the old straw hat factory into a very pleasant place for living. I like style of kitchens, used materials and connection with outdoors. Straw hat decoration on the walls is a tasteful reminder of the site history.

See you next week!

Hi, it is Petra here today.

I love magazines like Livingetc full of gorgeous spacey interiors but the reality is often different. Have you got a small room and tight budget? Never mind. Such limits can lead into nontraditional solution. As is this bedroom.
At the beginning of the year a young family asked me to participate on the interior of their new village house. They just moved in with few pieces of furniture from their previous flat and a vision of orange walls ... . There was new but  poor quality spruce floor in the bedroom and no ceiling light. So I suggested to paint the floor white glaze. I chose the wall color and toned bed linen. As for light, textile lamp shades hang on a cable from the ceiling hook. This solution enables easy light intensity adjustment just by moving lights up and down. Space for clothing and books is hidden behind the patterned curtain. It is made of two different old wardrobes and shelves. We just unmounted the doors. For easy cleaning washable rug is ideal. DIY from electrical insulating tape. Just won't warm your feet :-)
When I was finishing the bedroom, trees were blooming like the textile lamp shades above bed and Veronika just released black version of "Kiss slowly" poster. It fitted there perfectly.

And clients impressions? They are happy not having orange walls...

See you next week!

perfect shade of grey - help me decide

18 June 2010

I got inspired by Emma who runs series 'cast your vote' at her blog and I'm asking you here for help. I have been thinking about grey, dark grey wall for a while, as you might know..and I think the time has come. I would like to paint a wall in our bedroom. We are buying a new bed, another question...I want a bed without headboard, but is it really practical? my friend pointed, quite rightly the pillows falls behind a bed etc. or very low headboard. The rest of the room is white. White wardrobes, walls, floorboards. I'm not sure what shade of grey to choose and a little bit scared after living in almost completely white house for a while. At the moment my favourites are down pipe or railings. Has anyone got a wall painted in these colours? which one would you go for? any another tips? or shall I stick with white?
